Sunday Recovery Video: Tips for Handling “Triggering” Friends

Hi guys! So I’m going to be posting my weekly Sunday eating disorder (and other topic) recovery videos on my blog now – I figured that’s a good way to keep track of them, plus I can write a little “back story” or extra notes for each one.

Here’s this week’s video – I get asked about this a lot and it’s something I definitely went through in (and after) recovery.

  1. Talk to them about it.
  2. Distance yourself.
  3. If they ask “what’s up?” explain.
  4. [worst case scenario] Cut the cord.
  5. Respond with reason and positivity (don’t get sucked in).
