Sunday Recovery Video: Tips for Handling “Triggering” Friends

Hi guys! So I’m going to be posting my weekly Sunday eating disorder (and other topic) recovery videos on my blog now – I figured that’s a good way to keep track of them, plus I can write a little “back story” or extra notes for each one.

Here’s this week’s video – I get asked about this a lot and it’s something I definitely went through in (and after) recovery.

Hope you find some of my tips helpful! Let me know in the comments if there is any specific topic(s) you’d like me to cover in upcoming videos!

In this video: Tips for Handling “Triggering” Friends

  1. Talk to them about it.
  2. Distance yourself.
  3. If they ask “what’s up?” explain.
  4. [worst case scenario] Cut the cord.
  5. Respond with reason and positivity (don’t get sucked in).
