Friday’s Favourites: Catching Up

Every Friday I share some of my favourite things from that week: articles, music, videos, books, food, makeup - pretty much anything goes - and I am very willing to admit I "stole" this idea from the wonderful Gala Darling and her "Things I Love Thursday."

Note: it’s been way too long since I’ve done a Friday’s Favourites post, and yet I’ve been saving SO many favourites! So this week I’m going to catch up on a few things I’ve been meaning to share about as part of my current “declutter the clutter” action plan.

First a recap from the past week[s]…

Now on to my favourites…

 #1: My Dear Kates

IMG_0012 2We featured Dear Kate on Libero Network’s Body Positive Spotlight when I first discovered their brand and fell in love. It was their original “The Perfect Body” campaign (a response to Victoria’s Secret’s “Perfect Body” ad) that first drew my attention to them. Let me just say, this company is amazing, and their products are to die for.

I was so impressed by their generosity when they offered to send me my own pair as a thank you for featuring them on the Libero site. Let’s just say, these are my #1 favourite bottoms, hands down!

Go check them out on their website, Faceboo, and Twitter and show them some love!

#2: “Why I’m a Body Image Activist”

Love Melissa Fabello. Love Body Image activism. Love this video!

#3: Why You Shouldn’t Quit Facebook

Had this article logged away:

But strangely, my conclusion from the week wasn’t to stay away from technology forever, but instead to put technology in its place. I set new boundaries for myself—like not bringing my phone to the dinner table and turning off the TV an hour before I got to bed. Since then, I’ve felt more connected to my husband and more present wherever I am. [read here]

#4: New Jammies!

IMG_0021OK, so right after I went on a jammy-shopping binge, I watched “The True Cost” (topic for another day), so I’m working through some interesting feelings towards clothing, fashion, consumerism etc. However, in my initial ignorance, I bought these from Canadian Superstore (#JoeFreshLife) and I have to say…this is self-care, people.

If you haven’t bought yourself a fresh, comfy, jammy outfit lately, perhaps it is the time to do so…

#5: A few more articles I’ve been hoarding

Confession, when I read an article I really like, I bookmark it under a folder “Friday’s Favourites.” However, as you know, I haven’t done one of these in months, and because I have so many “hoarded” articles, I find I hesitate to save any new ones. So that being said, here they all are–they are all great and worth a read:

#6: Random Images:

I also have been hoarding images I love in a “Friday’s Favourites” folder. Again, I haven’t been saving more, because I knew I already had so many. Here’s to decluttering!

Bonus:

Here’s Zoey dressed up for #PinkShirtDay earlier this year. Found it buried in my “share” folder, so I’m sharing!
