First Post!

Hi everyone!

I am so excited to share my first post on my new site! For many of you reading this (as I’m assuming right now my audience is mostly friends & family!), you will know this is by far not my first blog post ever; however, this is the start of a new site, therefore a new era, therefore it is still a first!

So why another blog?

As many of you know, my writing at Libero Magazine is topic-specific – focusing mainly on Eating Disorder recovery and abusive relationships. This blog will be different. This will be a place for me to share everything else as there are indeed more things to write about than ED & Body Image (and many are just as important!)

I hope this blog will be a way for you to get to know me a bit better and see some new sides of me (as there are many!). I also hope it will give me the chance to write on some things that I am passionate about that I have yet to have the chance to incorporate in past writing experiences.

You can expect some of the following to make appearances on this site: God (because we can’t leave him out!), Ex-boyfriends (all my crazy stories), Celebrities + the Media (I’ll try to avoid Chris Brown & Rihanna, though!), Jon Foreman (constantly inspiring me), and just maybe I’ll squeeze in a little M-A-C (not the computers!)…

For Those of You Who Don’t Know Me…

I am a fourth year University student studying Professional Writing. I believe in God, wearing pink, and eating dessert. I was born in Canada, grew up in Africa, and currently call Vancouver, BC home. I am the Founding President of Libero Network ( – a not-for-profit online magazine & resource site for those working to overcome eating disorders, depression, addiction, and abuse. I am also the Director of Communications & Social Media Marketing for Villages of Hope-Africa ( – a not-for-profit organization working to bring hope to children in need through orphan care, community schools & feeding programs.

I love make-up, kick-boxing, stilettos, and philosophy.

Life is a journey (cliché but true) and on this journey I’ve made a lot of mistakes, experienced a lot of pain, and hit rock bottom many times; but for every mistake I have found grace, and for every tear there has been healing, and for every fall, I have found hope.

That is the story I want to share.
